PSU Softball player named Academic All-District
Hebert repeats on prestigious team for Panthers
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A junior on the Plymouth State University softball team has been honored for her successful accomplishments in the classroom as well as on the field.
Junior Sam Hebert (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team, as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Hebert was voted to the Academic All-District 1 First Team for the second straight year, earning the honor this spring at catcher for NCAA Division III.
A three-year starter, Hebert is batting .417 this season with 11 doubles, one home run, and 35 runs batted in. She ranks in the top four in the Little East Conference in batting average, RBI, hits (48), doubles (11) and on-base percentage (.500). She helped PSU to a second-place finish in the Little East, the team's highest finish since 2003.
In the classroom, Hebert is a Psychology major and has been named to the PSU President's List three times and the Dean's List twice during her undergraduate studies. She was elected to the Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society this year.
To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America program, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). He/she must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution. Academic All-District First Team selections advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
