First Day of Skiing National Championships postponed by weather

NEWRY, Maine - Bad weather has caused postponement of the first day of competition at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association's National Championships at Sunday River Resort.

The women's giant slalom race scheduled for Wednesday was called off and rescheduled for Thursday.  The men's GS will also be held on Thursday as originally scheduled.  The slalom races are slated for Friday (women's) and Saturday (men's).

Both Plymouth State's men's and women's teams are competing this week.  The men qualified by finishing second at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships last month at Waterville Valley, and the Panther women finished in a tie for fourth.
