PSU Men’s Ski Team finishes eighth in GS at Dartmouth
Beadon leads Panther racers
HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Chris Beadon (Ridgefield, Conn.) was the top Plymouth State University finisher Friday as the Panther men's alpine ski team finished in eighth place at the Dartmouth College Carnival at the Dartmouth Skiway.
Beadon took 22nd place out of more than 90 racers in the men's portion of the event. He had the 16th fastest time in the day's second run. Freshman Max Martin (Salt Lake City, Utah) had a solid day and finished 29th overall, while senior Parker Spear (Sodus Point, N.Y.) was 40th.
The Panther men finished eighth with 52 points, seven points behind Boston College and four ahead of Saint Michael's College. The University of Vermont took the team title with Middlebury College runner-up and the University of New Hampshire third.
It was a tough day for the Panther women's skiers. All five crossed the finish line in their first run but none placed in the top 60 to earn a second run. Freshman Matilda Ljuden (Uppsala, Sweden) was PSU's top finisher in 64th.
UVM also won the women's team title, ahead of runner-up Dartmouth and third-place Middlebury.
The teams will be back on the mountain Saturday at Dartmouth for the slalom portion of the Carnival.
