Panther men 10th; Panther women 12th
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Senior Chris Beadon (Ridgefield, Conn.) posted another strong finish for the Plymouth State University ski team, leading the Panthers in the giant slalom races at the Middlebury College Carnival at the Middlebury Snowbowl.
Beadon finished in 20th place among the 88 racers, moving up from 27th place after the first run. Freshman Max Martin (Salt Lake City, Utah) was the next best finisher for PSU, crossing the line in 41st place.
The University of Vermont won the men's team scoring with 136 points, with host Middlebury (116) edging the University of New Hampshire (100) for second place. PSU was 10th with 36 points, behind ninth-place Williams College (43.5) and ahead of 11th-place Harvard (14).
Freshman Matilda Ljuden (Uppsala, Sweden) was the top placer for the PSU women's team, taking 57th place among the 84 racers.
UNH captured the women's team title with 131 points, well ahead of runner-up Dartmouth (95). PSU was 12th with six points, just ahead of Colby-Sawyer College (5).
The teams will be back on the mountain Sunday at the Dartmouth Skiway for a slalom make-up race.
