PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Five members of the Plymouth State University alpine ski teams have been recognized with national academic honors from the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA).
The five Panthers were named to the 2014 USCSCA All-Academic Ski Team, which recognizes student-athletes who competed at the NCAA Regional Skiing Championships and who have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. There were 255 skiers from 30 schools who were honored.
The student-athletes representing Plymouth State on the team are senior Catherine Masson (East Stroudsburg, Pa.), junior Andrew Beck (Lake George, N.Y.), sophomores Caroline Lundmark (Skelleftea, Sweden) and Garrett Quimby (Dunstable, Mass.), and freshman Charlotte Lemgart (Vaerloese, Denmark).
The Panther men's ski team placed ninth in the slalom and 10th in the giant slalom at last weekend's NCAA East Regionals at the Middlebury (Vt.) Snow Bowl, while the Panther women were eighth in the slalom and seventh in the GS. Sophomore Max Martin (Salt Lake City, Utah) will represent the Panthers at the NCAA Skiing Championships on Mar. 5 & 7, at Park City, Utah.
