PSU Women's Basketball season opens this weekend

PLYMOUTH, N.H.  -- The women's basketball team at Plymouth State College hopes to be "tournament tough" when the post-season rolls around, after opening the 1997-98 campaign with a pair of in-season tournaments.

The Panthers tip off the 1997-98 campaign this weekend (Nov. 21-22) at the MIT Tournament in Cambridge, Mass., facing Wentworth Institute of Technology Friday at 6:00 p.m. The tournament concludes Saturday with the consolation game at 2:00 p.m. and the championship contest at 4:00 p.m.

PSC will then travel to Washington, D.C. over Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the Gallaudet Holiday Classic, along with Randolph Macon and Pine Manor. The tourney will be Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29-30, hosted by Gallaudet University.

PSC will play its first home games the first week of December, hosting Salem State on Dec. 4th and opening the Little East Conference season at home on Dec. 6th against Western Connecticut. PSC is guided by third-year head coach Marti Kingsley.
