Plymouth State College junior Courtney Jacques (Belmont, NH) was named to the LEC Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll after guiding the Panthers to a 1-1 week.
A 5'6" junior guard, Jacques averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists in PSC's two games. She scored a season-high 20 points and tied a season best with nine rebounds in the team's 70-61 win at rival Keene State on Wednesday (2/17). Jacques added 12 points and six assists in the team's 89-69 loss to Eastern Connecticut in the regular season finale. She has scored in double figures in eight straight games, 11-of-12 and 18 of 23 this season.
The Panthers finished the season at 7-7 and in fifth place in the LEC, one game behind Rhode Island College. First year head coach Lauren Lavigne guided PSC to a 14-10 overall record, its best winning percentage since the team went 21-7 and earned an NCAA berth in the 1994-95 season.
Jacques finished the regular season ranked third in the Little East with 4.2 assists per game. She was also among the league's best in steals per game (eighth with 2.4 per contest).
Jacques and the rest of the Panther team travel to Rhode Island College, Tuesday (2/23), for the opening round of the Little East Conference Tournament. The two teams split the regular season series, with each team winning on its home court. RIC defeated the Panthers in Providence on December 12th, winning 85-74, but Plymouth beat the Anchorwomen 76-64 at Foley Gymnasium on January 30th. The winner will play the winner of UMass Boston (#8) - Southern Maine (#1) on Friday (2/26), most likely in Gorham, Maine.
