PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Little East Conference recognized two members of the Plymouth State College basketball teams Monday for their strong performances on the court last week.
Sophomore Anthony Oglesby (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named LEC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, and senior Heather Adey (Nashua, N.H.) was a selection on the LEC Women's Weekly Honor Roll. It is the first LEC honor for Oglesby and the first this season for Adey, as she becomes the fourth senior on the women's team to be honored.
A 6'3" forward, Oglesby averaged 26.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in PSC's 1-1 week. He shot 64.7 percent from the field (22-of-34) while registering four assists and four steals. Oglesby had 25 points and 18 rebounds in a one-point win over UMass Boston last Tuesday, and came back with a season-high 28 points and seven rebounds in a three-point loss at Rhode Island College. He is among the LEC leaders in four categories, ranking fifth in scoring (16.6 ppg) and third in rebounding (8.1 rpg), field goal percentage (.561) and steals (2.2 spg).
A 5'11" forward, Adey averaged 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds last week to help the Panthers win all three games. She shot 59.4 percent from the field (19-of-32) while adding eight assists and six steals. Adey had a double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds) in an LEC win over UMass Boston, and she finished with a season-high 21 points in a solid non-conference win over Saint Joseph's. She is one of the LEC leaders in scoring 10.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg) while ranking second in field goal percentage (.568).
Both Panther squads will be in action Tuesday at Foley Gymnasium against the University of Southern Maine (women at 5:30 p.m., men at 7:30 p.m.). The PSC men (10-4 overall) are in a four-way tie for second in the conference at 3-2, and the PSC women (8-5 overall) are in a three-way tie for third, also at 3-2.
