PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Three seniors on the Plymouth State College women's basketball team were voted to play in the Senior All-Star Classic this Sunday by the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA).
Senior forward Courtney Albert (Hudson, N.H.) and guards Whitney Morin (Derby Line, Vt.) and Jenn Pelletier (Derry, N.H.) were selected to represent Plymouth State in the event, which is Sunday at Salem State University (1:00 p.m.). A total of 24 seniors from around New England were voted in by the coaches association, six from the Little East Conference.
All three Panthers who will be participating enjoyed all-star seasons for Plymouth State. Albert earned First Team All-LEC honors for the third straight year and finished as the school's all-time scoring leader (1,711 points); Morin was a First Team All-LEC pick, earned her second straight ECAC New England Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award, and finished fifth on the PSC career scoring list (1,180 points); and Pelletier was a Second Team All-LEC choice and finishes her career as the school record holder in assists (479) and steals (270) and the second all-time leading scorer (1,278 points).
The Panther trio, along with fellow senior Heather Adey (Nashua, N.H.), just completed a record-breaking season at PSC. The foursome helped the team to a school-record 23 victories (23-8), while setting 15 individual and team records and capturing their second straight ECAC New England Championship under head coach Lauren Lavigne. The Panther seniors finished their careers with a combined record of 84-33.
