NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Sophomore forward Katie Susat (Glastonbury, Conn.) scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds Saturday afternoon, leading the Plymouth State University women's basketball team to a 90-78 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference women's basketball game at the Tripp Athletic Center.
Susat, who had her previous career high 17 points earlier this season in a 78-71 win over UMD, helped the Panthers defeat the Corsairs for the 15th straight time. PSU improves to 9-10 overall and 4-5 in the LEC, while UMD falls to 7-12 and 3-5.
The Panthers overcame a 41-37 halftime deficit with a 53-point second half. PSU shot 51.4 percent from the field after the break, and finished the game with a 42-24 rebounding advantage.
Susat was one of five Panthers to score in double figures as PSU reached its season high in scoring. Junior Lauren Devereaux (Hope Valley, R.I.) finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, junior Betsy Oswalt (Jaffrey, N.H.) and freshman Colleen Mahoney (North Attleboro, Mass.) added 13 points apiece, and senior Mandi Allen (Blue Hill, Maine) had 12 points, four assists and four steals.
Sophomore Kerri Augenstein and senior Kelly O'Neil led the hosts with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Junior Bridget Bowes chipped in with 13 points and Casey Ridge added 10.
PSU takes a break from LEC play on Tuesday with a non-conference match-up at Newbury College (7:00 p.m.).
