PSU Women’s Hoop falls to Keene State

KEENE, N.H. -- Senior Stacey Morse (Lebanon, N.H.) registered 14 points and 13 rebounds and junior Bri Barnes (Merrimack, N.H.) added 14 points and nine boards Tuesday evening to lead Keene State College to a 69-54 victory over rival Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference women's basketball game at Spaulding Gym.

The game was decided in the final 5:47 of play when the Owls outscored the Panthers 16-2. PSU was within one point (55-54) with 4:29 remaining, but it was all Keene State from there. Morse had six points and freshman Michele Boudreau (Readsboro, Vt.) hit four free throws down the stretch to help KSC pull away.

Junior Sarah Begnoche (Millville, Mass.) chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds for KSC, which improved to 10-8 overall and 5-3 in the LEC.

Sophomore Meghan MacDonald (Salem, N.H.) led PSU with 12 points, while junior Kaitlin Linehan (South Boston, Mass.) finished with nine points for the Panthers, who fell to 6-10 overall and 3-5 in league play.

Up by 11 point (30-19) with 5:12 to go in the first half, the Owls had to settle for a 35-31 halftime lead.

Plymouth State returns home to host Lasell College Thursday in a non-conference contest at Foley Gymnasium (6:00 p.m.) Keene State hosts Middlebury College in a non-conference affair on Thursday (7:00 p.m.)
