PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Sophomores Nicky Morey (Columbia, Conn.) and Ashley McFetridge (Canton, Conn.) combined for 42 points Saturday afternoon to lead Eastern Connecticut State University to a 78-69 victory over Plymouth State University in Little East Conference women's basketball action at Foley Gymnasium.

PSU pulled to within five points with five minutes remaining but the visitors held on, improving to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Panther suffered their third straight loss and fell to 4-10 overall and 1-4 in the LEC.

Eastern took a double-digit lead (18-8) less than seven minutes into the contest, and maintained the lead the rest of the half. The Warriors pushed the margin to 20 points (40-20) with three minutes to go in the half before heading to the locker room with a 14-point bulge (43-29).

After shooting only 29 percent in the first half, Plymouth State caught fire in the second half, converting 50 percent from the field.
