PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Western Connecticut State University jumped out to a double-digit lead less than seven minutes into the game Saturday afternoon and went on to post a 76-53 victory over Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference women's basketball game at Foley Gymnasium.

Plymouth State whittled the deficit down to 14 points three times early in the second half, the last time at 50-36 with 13 minutes remaining, but WestConn responded with nine straight points to get the lead back up over 20 points and put the game away.
After a break for final exams and the holidays, PSU is back on the court on Saturday, Jan. 3, with a non-conference home game against Johnson & Wales University (1:00 p.m.). WestConn hosts Wentworth in a non-conference tilt on Monday, Jan. 5, at 5:30 p.m.
