PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the top players on the
Plymouth State University women's basketball team was recognized
Monday with selection to the Little East Conference (LEC) Weekly
Honor Roll.
Senior Laura Kent (Bellingham, Mass.) earned her first selection to the LEC Honor Roll after leading the Panthers last week. She has helped PSU to a 10-3 start to the season.
A 6'0" forward, Kent (right) averaged 20.3 points and 8.7
rebounds for PSU in a 1-2 week, shooting 61.9 percent from the
field and 92.1 percent on 38 trips to the free throw line
(35-for-38). She recorded double-doubles on Monday and
Thursday with a season-high 27 points and 11 rebounds in a win over
UMaine Presque Isle and 21 points and 11 boards in a loss at UMaine
Farmington. Kent also contributed 13 points and four rebounds in
Saturday's LEC loss to Western Connecticut. She made four
steals and two blocked shots in the three games, and earned
All-Tournament Team honors last Monday at the Southern Maine
New Year's Classic.
Kent, who was an All-New Hampshire Second Team pick last season, has continued as one of the top players in the LEC this season. She ranks sixth in the Little East in scoring with 14.4 points per game and seventh in rebounding with 7.8 boards per contest. She also ranks among the conference leaders in field goal percentage (52.8) and free throw percentage (87.2).
