PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the top players on the Plymouth State University women's basketball team was recognized Monday with selection to the Little East Conference (LEC) Weekly Honor Roll.
Sophomore Alicia Doucet (Manchester, N.H./Central) earned her selection to the LEC Honor Roll after leading the Panthers to a runner-up finish in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Tournament last week. It is the third time this season that Doucet has been recognized with weekly honors from the Little East.
A 5'11" forward, Doucet (right) averaged 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds for PSU in the ECAC tournament, leading the sixth-seeded Panthers to upset victories over third-seeded Endicott College and second-seeded Regis College before taking top-seeded Keene State College into overtime in the championship game. She posted a double-double in the opening round win over Endicott with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and she led all scorers in the championship contest with 29 points and eight rebounds, seven off the offensive glass.
Doucet, who was an LEC All-Rookie Team selection in 2009, ranked second in the conference this season with an average of 15.6 points per game. She was fifth in the LEC in rebounding (8.1 per game) and blocked shots (1.1 per game) and 12th in steals (1.7 per contest).
