NEWTON, Mass. – Freshman Molly Lauver scored a game-high 19 points Thursday evening as Lasell College defeated Plymouth State University, 69-52, in non-conference women's basketball action at the Lasell Athletic Center.

Sophomore Danielle Autencio added 12 points for the Lasers, and junior Kayla Vincelette chipped in with 10.  Lasell opened the 2013 portion of the schedule with a victory to even their record at 5-5 overall.

Senior Katie Seraikas (Concord, N.H./Bow) led the Panthers with 15 points as she made 7-of-10 shots from the field. Sophomore Kristen Hrubowchak (Litchfield, N.H.) added nine points, a team-high five rebounds and four assists, and freshman Bry Bennett (Lancaster, N.H.) made 4-of-5 shots to finish with eight points.

The upset-minded Panthers came out strong and opened up a five-point lead (18-13) eight minutes into the game.  PSU clung to a two-point margin (18-16) at the midway point, and Lasell was up by two with eight minutes to play.  The Lasers scored eight unanswered points to extend their margin to 10 points (31-21), and went on to take a 41-28 lead into the intermission.

The home team opened the second half with an 11-2 run in the first three minutes, pushing the margin to 22 points (52-30), and then maintained control the rest of the way.
