Hickey earns Honor Roll nod after strong play on season-opening weekend

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the top players on the Plymouth State University women's ice hockey team was honored Monday with weekly recognition from the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) after her performance in PSU's season-opening games last weekend at the Buffalo State Invitational.

A 5'10" forward, Hickey tallied two goals and an assist in the overtime deadlock Friday against Buff. State. Her first goal tied the game at 2-2 with five minutes to go in the second period, and her second goal came on the power play with just 18 seconds remaining in regulation, tying the score at 4-4 and forcing overtime and the eventual tie. She also assisted on a tying goal (3-3) with 6:45 remaining in the third period.

Plymouth State, 0-1-1, makes its home debut under first-year head coach Mykul Haun this Friday, Nov. 4, at 6:00 p.m. at Hanaway Rink as the Panthers host Holy Cross College in their first NEHC game of the season.
