Lindqvist named Goaltender of the Week, Fagan on Weekly Honor Roll

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A pair of Plymouth State University women's ice hockey players were recognized by the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) for their roles in a 1-0-1 weekend.

Junior Emelie Lindqvist (Gulleråsen, Sweden) was named the NEHC Women's Hockey Goaltender of the Week, while sophomore Alexis Fagan (Wakefield, R.I.) was named to the NEHC Weekly Honor Roll.

Lindqvist was superb in net for the Panthers during a pair of NEHC contests over the weekend. The 5-3 goalie turned aside all 19 shots she faced in Friday's 5-0 shutout over the University Southern Maine, then made 27 saves on Saturday as PSU skated to a 1-1 tie with the University of New England. She currently leads all NEHC goalies with a 0.76 goals against average, and a .966 save percentage.

Fagan was the primary distributor in Friday night's win. The 5-6 forward notched three assists for the Panthers, recording helpers on the team's first two scores. She added her third assist on the team's final goal in the third period. Fagan also won 9-of-14 faceoffs.

The Panthers open up a four-game road trip at Norwich University on Friday (Nov. 10). Puck-drop against the Cadets, the preseason NEHC favorites, is set for 7:00 p.m.
