Lindqvist named Goaltender of the Week for second time

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University junior Emelie Lindqvist (Gulleråsen, Sweden) was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Women's Hockey Goaltender of the Week for her performances in a pair of games last week.

Lindqvist was superb between the pipes during a pair of NEHC contests over the weekend. The 5-3 goalie set a new personal best with 50 saves as the Panthers skated to a 1-1 tie with NEHC foe University of Massachusetts Boston on Friday. She followed that performance with a 30-save, 1-0 shutout of conference opponent Salve Regina University on Saturday.

Lindqvist has had a spectacular start to the season. She leads all NEHC goalies with a .951 save percentage, 14th best in the country, and her 1.63 goals against average is second best in the league and tied for 22nd in the nation. This is the second time this season that she has been recognized as Goaltender of the Week.

The Panthers (2-3-2, 2-2-2 NEHC) are off this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, but will be back at Hanaway Rink on Saturday, Dec. 2 for a 2:00 p.m. tilt with Salem State.
