Lindqvist named to Weekly Honor Roll

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University junior goaltender Emelie Lindqvist (Gulleråsen, Sweden) was named to the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Honor Roll for her performance last week.

Lindqvist put forth another stellar showing in Friday's 2-0 loss to NCAA Division I Franklin Pierce University. The 5-3 goalie made 42 saves through the first 55 minutes of play before the Ravens were able to break through with the game-winner with just 4:46 left to play.

FPU held a 22-9 advantage in shots on goal through the first two periods, but Lindqvist stopped all 22 to keep the game scoreless. The Ravens increased the pressure in the third period, adding 26 shots in the final 20 minutes alone to squeak out the win.

Lindqvist finished with 46 saves, marking the third time she has surpassed the 40-save plateau this season. She currently ranks second in the NEHC with a 1.73 goals against average, while leading the league with a .949 save percentage.

The Panthers (2-5-2, 2-2-2 NEHC) wrap up the 2017 portion of their schedule with a pair of road games this week. PSU is tentatively scheduled, weather permitting, to travel to Salem State tomorrow night for a 7:00 p.m. contest, before closing out the semester with a 3:00 p.m. game at Endicott College on Saturday (Dec. 16).
