PSU Women’s Ice Hockey player earns NEHC recognition

Jacobs named to Weekly Honor Roll for second time

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University women's ice hockey sophomore Kailey Jacobs (Westwood, Mass.) was recognized by the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) after an impressive week on the ice for the Panthers.

Jacobs, who recorded four points as PSU went 1-1-1, was named to the NEHC Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in three weeks.

Jacobs notched the second two-goal game of her career on Wednesday (Jan. 17) in a 3-3 tie with Oswego State. She opened the scoring with a rebound goal in the first period, then, after the Lakers had rallied to pull ahead 3-1, scored the game-tying goal midway through the third period.

The 5-4 forward added single assists in Plymouth State's other two games of the week, a loss to Oswego State on Thursday (Jan. 18) and a 5-0 blanking of NEHC-foe New England College on Saturday.

Jacobs leads the team with seven assists and 10 points, and is second with three goals scored.

The Panthers (5-8-4, 4-2-2 NEHC) currently sit in third place in the NEHC, two points behind UMass Boston. PSU will travel to Salem State tomorrow for a 3:30 p.m., non-conference contest.
