PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Sophomore Robin Hartman (Santa Maria, Cal.) and senior Faith Wahlen (Hampstead, NH) combined for seven goals and four assists Saturday to lead the Plymouth State College women's lacrosse team to an 11-9 victory over Bridgewater State College at Arold Field.
The victory was a small bit of revenge for PSC, which lost the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance championship game to Bridgewater State last season. The Panthers won for the fourth consecutive game to improve to 5-2 overall while the Bears are now 4-4.
Hartman led the way for PSC with four goals and an assist. She leads PSC in scoring with 19 goals and four assists. Wahlen contributed three goals and three assists, scoring PSC's last three markers that gave the Panthers a four-goal advantage (11-7) with 11 minutes remaining.
Also getting into the scoring act for PSC were freshman Heather Adey (Nashua, NH) with a goal and an assist, and senior Amanda Beedy (New Hampton, NH) and sophomores Brooke Smith (Columbia, SC), and Janet Conner (South Freeport, Maine) connecting on one each.
Freshman Laura Swart (Yorktown, NY) scored a game-high five goals and sophomore Paula Habel (Hingham, Mass.) added three others to lead the Bridgewater State offense. Freshman Stacie Dufour (Nashua, NH) also scored for BSC.
PSC junior Lisa Goldberg (Newton, Mass.) made 13 saves, and BSC junior Jo-Ellen Murgo (Pittsfield, Mass.) made 10 saves.
The Panthers return to action Wednesday (4/12) with a key NEWLA encounter at Keene State (4 p.m.). BSC returns home to host Colby on Tuesday (4/11) at 4 p.m.
