PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Senior Amanda Beedy (New Hampton, NH) and sophomore Marcia Wood (Sanford, Maine) scored three goals apiece Thursday, leading the Plymouth State College women's lacrosse team to an easy 16-5 non-conference victory over Elms College at Arold Field.
The victory was PSC's third in the last four days, and improves the Panthers to 9-3 overall. Elms drops to 1-10 on the season. PSC took a 9-1 lead at the half and held a 15-2 advantage with 14 minutes remaining in the contest, and cruised home the rest of the way.
The Panthers also got two goals each from sophomore Janet Conner (South Freeport, Maine) and junior Chrystn Pitt (Freeport, Maine). Six other Panthers contributed one goal apiece -- seniors Faith Wahlen (Hampstead, NH), Jess Shapiro (Windsor Locks, Conn.) and Jenn Hilbert (Lyme, NH), juniors Courtney O'Sullivan (No. Kingston, NH) and Ali Hoffman (Hancock, NH) and sophomore Sacha Jackson (Sangerville, Maine).
Elms was led by seniors Melissa DaCosta and Erin Fitzmaurice, who each scored two goals. Junior Stacie Gendron also scored for the Blazers.
PSC junior Lisa Goldberg (Newton, Mass.) made three saves in the first half, and freshman reserve Lindsey Breda (Londonderry, NH) made one second-half save. Elms goalie Brooke Ramah made 20 saves.
The Panthers are idle until Monday (4/24), when they play a New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance contest at Castleton State (4 p.m.).
