PSC dumps Whittier (Cal.)

WHITTIER, Cal. - Junior Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, N.Y.) tallied six goals and four assists Monday night, leading the Plymouth State College women's lacrosse team to an easy 18-4 victory over Whittier College on the Panthers' spring trip to California.

Sheridan scored four goals in the first 10 minutes of the game as PSC surged to a 7-0 lead. The Panthers led 11-2 at halftime before coasting home with the win.

In addition to Sheridan, PSC was powered by five goals from freshman Bethany Brown (Norwich, Conn.) and four goals and three assists from sophomore Annmarie Guglielmo (Gansevoort, N.Y.). Senior Melissa Cotton (Osterville, Mass.) also contributed two goals and two assists for PSC, and senior Jill Matteson (Chatham, Mass.) added one goal.

PSC, which fell to Stevens Tech (N.J.) in its season opener, evens its record at 1-1.

Plymouth State junior goalkeeper Carmen Villanueva (East Schodack, N.Y.) was credited with 13 saves.

The Panthers play another game on the west coast trip Thursday against Colorado College at Redlands, Cal.
