Panther Lacrosse players receive weekly Little East Conference honors

- Two members of the Plymouth State University lacrosse teams were recognized Monday with top weekly honors from the Little East Conference.

Sophomore Amanda Spadafora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named LEC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman Adam Krinsky (Concord, N.H.) was selected LEC Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.  Spadafora has helped the Panther women to the top of the LEC standings, while Krinsky has led the Panther men to four straight wins.

A starting defensive midfielder, Spadafora led the Panther defense with 12 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers in PSU's 1-1 week. She recorded six ground balls and five caused turnovers in a non-conference loss at Colby-Sawyer, and added six ground balls and six caused turnovers in a conference win at UMass Dartmouth. Spadafora anchored a Panther defense that allowed only seven goals to UMD.

Spadafora, who has also contributed nine goals and three assists to the Panther offense, leads the LEC in caused turnovers (3.1 per game) and ranks second in ground balls (4.5 per game).

A starting attackman, Krinsky registered seven points on six goals and one assist in PSU's 2-0 week. He tallied a goal and an assist in a non-conference win over New England College, and added a game-high five goals in PSU's LEC win over Southern Maine. This is the second time this season that Krinsky has been named LEC Rookie of the Week.

Krinsky, who also skated for the PSU men's ice hockey team this past winter, leads the Panther lax team in scoring with 35 points on 23 goals and 12 assists.

Both Panther lacrosse teams are heading into the final week of the regular season. The men's squad has won four in a row to improve their record to 6-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while the women are 6-4 overall and 5-0 in the LEC.
