PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The top player on the Plymouth State University women's lacrosse team was honored Wednesday with selection as a Little East Conference First Team All-Star for the 2008 season.
Sophomore midfielder Kalie Judd (Peabody, Mass./Veterans Memorial) was picked to the All-LEC Team in a voting by the league's head coaches. She was a standout for the Panthers in her first season on the team after transferring from the University of New Hampshire.
Judd (right) was a dominant player on both ends of the field. She led the team in just about every statistical category, including goals (28), points (36), ground balls (47), draw controls (45) and caused turnovers (27). She ranked second in the conference in ground balls and caused turnovers, third in draw controls, and ninth in goals scored. Judd is a standout two-sport athlete who is also a regular on the PSU women's basketball team.
Plymouth State completed the season with a 1-11 overall record, missing the LEC Tournament for the first time in the eight-year history of the tournament. Eight of PSU's 11 losses came to teams with winning records, and six Panther opponents advanced to the post-season (four NCAA, two ECAC).
