A 2013 graduate of Stratford High School in Stratford CT, Cerone lettered in four years of lacrosse and soccer and two years in basketball and indoor track. A senior captain in both soccer and lacrosse, Cerone set the Stratford high school record for career goals and points for both boys and girls. She helped lead her team to their first ever Conference tournament appearance in 2012 and first ever State tournament appearance in 2013. Cerone earned multiple accolades in lacrosse including Southwest Conference All-Division Team honors in 2011 and 2012, First Team All-Southwest Conference honors in 2013, Connecticut Post All-Star Team honors in 2013 and was also the winner of the Babe Ruth Award (Outstanding Senior Female Athlete). She was the recipient of the Red Devil Award in basketball in 2011. Cerone excelled in the classroom as well earning the Southwest Conference All-Academic Award in 2013. She was coached by Karen Newall.
Abigail Nicole Cerone is the daughter of Richard and Janice Cerone. Her father Richard played football at Washington and Lee University and graduated in 1982. Cerone has two brothers (Mike and Drew).
