FERRUM, Va. – Freshman Caroline Vonachen (Framingham, Mass.) scored four goals and picked up a game-high six ground balls Wednesday afternoon to lead Plymouth State University to a 16-6 non-conference women's lacrosse win over Ferrum College at Penn-Roediger Field.
The Panthers also got three goals and three assists from junior Amy MacDonald (Hull, Mass.) and three goals from junior Molly Gleason (Haverhill, Mass.) to post their first win of the season (1-2). Ferrum had a five-game winning streak stopped and fell to 5-4.

Ferrum scored the first goal of the second half but PSU tallied the next four, including two by Vonachen, to make it 11-2, and the Panthers controlled the score the rest of the way.

PSU will be right back on the field Thursday with a 6:00 p.m. contest at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C.
