Field selected New England Defensive Player of the Week
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The in-season awards continue for Plymouth State University women's lacrosse netminder Lorin Field (Hollis, N.H./Hollis-Brookline).
The Panther senior goalie was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday, the second time in her career she has been awarded the honor. Field was also the Little East Conference Goalie of the Week for the fourth time this season and 11th time in her four years.
Field posted a 2-0 record with a 4.93 goals against average and a .760 save percentage in just 73 minutes between the pipes. She made 15 saves while allowing five goals in 50 minutes in Wednesday's win over Southern Maine, and she stopped four out of five shots in 23 minutes of action in Saturday's victory over RIC. Field also made her debut as an attacker and tallied three goals and an assist against RIC.
Field, who led the nation in 2013 with a .569 save percentage, has climbed to fifth in the NCAA Division III this season with a .566 percentage. She also ranks second in the LEC with an 8.57 goals against average.
