PSU Women’s Lacrosse goalie named Division III All-American
Field represents Panthers on IWLCA Second Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting goalie on the Plymouth State University women's lacrosse team was honored Monday when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 48 student-athletes who comprise the Division III All-America teams for 2014.
PSU senior goalie Lorin Field (Hollis, N.H./Hollis-Brookline) was named to the IWLCA All-America Second Team after earning First Team All-Pilgrim Region honors a week ago. A three-time All-Region selection and Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Field enjoyed another stellar season for the Panthers. She ranks second nationally this spring with a .591 save percentage after leading the nation in the category last season. She was selected LEC Goalie of the Week four times this season and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Defensive Player of the Week twice. Field, who was named Most Outstanding Player as PSU captured the LEC Tournament championship, completes her career with a school standard 41 victories (41-18) and a record 545 saves, posting an 8.38 goals against average and a .554 saves percentage.
PSU finished the season with a 12-5 overall record, and a 4-2 mark in the Little East. The Panthers, under head coach Kristin Tracy, captured the Little East Conference Tournament Championship and earned its fifth appearance in the NCAA Championships, falling to Colby College in the second round.
