Tingley represents Panthers in Pilgrim Region, Second Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A standout on the Plymouth State University women's lacrosse team has been recognized with regional honors as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the Division III All-Region teams for 2017.
Junior Megan Tingley (Natick, Mass.) was named to the All-Pilgrim Region Second Team for this past season. Tingley is a two-time All-Little East Conference First Team pick, helping PSU to the LEC tournament championship this spring and a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.
A three-year starter at midfield, Tingley continues to be one of the top all-around players in the region. She filled up the stat sheet in just about every game, finishing with a team-high 69 points on 29 goals and 40 assists, 61 draw controls, 26 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. In the Little East statistics rankings, Tingley leads the conference in assists and draw controls per game and ranks second in points per game. Her totals are also ranked 13th nationally in assists per game. Tingley was a two-time LEC Player of the Week this season.
Tingley continues to move up in the PSU record books, setting the career assist mark (94) earlier this season and moving to seventh on the all-time scoring list with 197 points (90g, 107a). She is also sixth on PSU's career list for draw controls (137).
PSU finished with an 11-4 overall record this spring under head coach Sandy Bridgeman. The Panthers upset top-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University in the Little East Tournament championship game before falling to defending national champion Middlebury in the NCAA Tournament.
