Tingley named Offensive Player of the Week for Panthers
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer for the Plymouth State University women's lacrosse team earned recognition from the Little East Conference (LEC) for her play over the last week.
Senior Megan Tingley (Natick, Mass.) was named the LEC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after the Panthers went 1-1 against a pair of NEWMAC schools.
Tingley notched four goals and two assists in Plymouth State's season opening, 17-9 setback at Babson College on Wednesday. She scored three times in the second half and her strike with 14:25 remaining cut the Panthers' deficit to 12-9 before the Beavers ran off five straight goals to close the game.
Tingley added three goals, two assists and seven draw controls in Plymouth's 17-11 victory over Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday. She put PSU up 1-0 just 1:25 into the contest and her second and third goals came 1:23 apart to push the margin to 8-4 in the first half. The Panthers owned a 9-6 lead at the half and, after the Engineers cut the deficit to 9-7 early in the second half, outscored the home team 8-4 the rest of the way.
Her seven goals through two games are tied for the team lead, while her 11 points are a team best.
Plymouth State (1-1) is off until March 18 when the Panthers travel to Bowdoin College for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
