PSU Women’s Lacrosse player honored by LEC

Zuccaro named Defensive Player of the Week after season opener 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Kimberly Zuccaro (Townsend, Mass.) picked up her first conference honor of the season when the Little East Conference (LEC) announced its weekly women's lacrosse award winners on Monday.

            Zuccaro, the defending LEC Midfielder of the Year, picked up LEC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors after her play in the Panthers' season opening setback at Babson College on Sunday.

            Zuccaro picked up a team high four ground balls and added a team best three draw controls while contributing a goal and a pair of assists as PSU was nipped by Babson, 10-8. After falling behind 3-0, she picked up the assist on the Panthers' first goal of the season. Trailing 9-5 in the second half, she notched her second assist, then scored on a free position shot as PSU cut the deficit to 9-7 with 5:19 remaining.

            Plymouth State (0-1) has two weeks to prepare for its next game, a non-conference contest at Bates College on Mar. 10.
