Panthers split with Bridgewater & Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Plymouth State College split a pair of wrestling matches Wednesday evening, dropping a 31-11 decision to Bridgewater State but coming back to edge Norwich, 21-20.

All three teams finished the evening with 1-1 records, as Norwich defeated Bridgewater State.

The Bears won eight of the 10 bouts against the Panthers. The only PSC winners were sophomore Rich Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) at 157 pounds and sophomore Jared Raymond (Danville, N.H.) at 133.

The PSC-Norwich outcome wasn't decided until the final match, with each team winning five individual bouts. Panther winners included sophomore Steve Ferreira (Salem, N.H.) at 184, senior Marco Salce (Keene, N.H.) at 197, sophomore Dana Carr (Salem, N.H.) at heavyweight, Raymond at 133, and freshman Justin Homsey (Plaistow, N.H.) at 141. Raymond and Homsey pinned their opponents, which helped determined the final outcome.

The Panthers, 1-1, travel to central New York this weekend (Nov. 18) for the annual Oneonta Invitational.
