BRISTOL, R.I. - Plymouth State College finished with seven place-winners and ended up in fifth place among 15 teams Saturday at the annual Roger Williams Wrestling Invitational.
The Panthers, who matched last year's place in the same event, finished with 92.5 points. Coast Guard won the meet with 172.5 points, followed by Roger Williams (122.5), Wesleyan (112), Bridgewater State (101.5) and PSC rounding out the top five.
Senior Nate Buffington (Plymouth, N.H.) was the top placer for PSC, finishing third at 125 pounds. Junior Lee Miller (Concord, N.H.) took fourth place at 157 pounds, and senior Marco Salce (Keene, N.H.) and sophomore Rick Simula (Plymouth, N.H.) placed fifth at 197 and 285 pounds, respectively.
PSC also had three sixth-place finishers - junior Chris Villa (Hazlet, N.J.) at 174, sophomore Rich Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) at 157, and freshman Dan Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) at 165.
Plymouth State returns to action Wednesday (Nov. 14) with its only home match of the first semester, a 7:00 p.m. match at Foley Gymnasium against Norwich University.
