PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Plymouth State College wrestling team came back to defeat Trinity College Saturday in a quad meet after losses to host Johnson & Wales and Springfield College, two of the top teams in New England.
Johnson & Wales, ranked third in New England, started PSC's day with a 38-10 triumph over the Panthers. After a 35-3 setback to Springfield, the top-ranked team in New England, sixth-ranked PSC earned a 31-18 decision over eighth-ranked Trinity. Plymouth State is now 8-7 on the season, while JWU is 15-3, Springfield is 11-3 and Trinity is 7-9.
Sophomore Rich Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) had a good day for the Panthers, winning all three of his matches at 157 pounds. He improved his season record to 22-9. Senior Marco Salce (Keene, N.H.) went 2-1 at 174 and 184 pounds, including a forfeit victory, to improve his season record to 25-8. Junior Jared Raymond (Danville, N.H.) is now 10-6 on the year after winning both of his bouts at 133 pounds.
The Panthers will wrap up the dual meet season this Thursday, Feb. 7th, against Williams College. The match will be held at Milford (N.H.) Middle School (6:00 p.m.).
