Panther Wrestler withdraws from NCAA Tournament

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University's two-time New England wrestling champion has been forced to withdraw from the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

Junior Dan Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.), who captured his second straight New England 149-pound title on Feb. 22, has withdrawn from the national tournament after re-injuring a shoulder during practice last Friday. Moskowitz had been gearing up for his second appearance at the NCAA meet.

The top alternate from New England, Norwich University's Dan Whelan, who Moskowitz beat to win the New England title, will replace the Plymouth State wrestler in Dubuque, Iowa, the site of the NCAA Championships.

Moskowitz completes his season with a 25-6 overall record, and improves his career mark to 70-30.
