PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Five members of the Plymouth State University wrestling team are currently ranked among the top wrestlers in New England, according to the latest New England Wrestling Association's individual rankings.
Leading the way for the Panthers is senior Josh St. Ours (Auburn, N.H./Manchester Memorial), who is ranked second at 197 pounds. A two-time All-New England wrestler, St. Ours (right) has a 22-5 record with 15 pins this season, including a 14-1 record with nine pins in the month of January.
The next-highest ranked Panther is sophomore Dustin Rudy (Iselin, N.J./John F. Kennedy), who is ranked third at 165 pounds. Rudy has posted a 12-8 mark this season.
Junior Fred Wilkinson (Quogue, N.Y.) is the fifth-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds. Wilkinson is a returning All-New England performer who has registered a 15-12 record this year.
Sophomore Eric Larcomb (Jefferson, N.H./White Mountain Regional) is ranked sixth for PSU at 184 pounds. Larcomb has overcome injuries and has recorded a 9-4 overall mark, wrestling at both 184 and 197 pounds this season.
Freshman Logan Russell (Bath, Maine) made his first appearance in the New England rankings this week at the No. 8 spot at 149 pounds. Russell owns a 10-14 overall record and placed third at the PSU Invitational last month.
The Panthers, 8-7 in dual meets, conclude the regular season this Sunday at Foley Gymnasium with the final home matches of the season. PSU will host Trinity College, Springfield College and Johnson & Wales University in a quad meet beginning at 12 noon.
