Three Panthers named to Scholar All-America Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Three Plymouth State University wrestlers have earned top academic honors for the 2010-11 year from the National Wrestling Coaches Association of America (NWCA).
Senior Eric Larcomb (Jefferson, N.H./White Mountain Regional), junior Jake Gagnon (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) and sophomore Femi Wheeler (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) have been named to the NWCA Division III Scholar All-American Team. Criteria for Scholar All-Americans include having a grade point average of 3.2 or higher, and wrestlers must meet one of the following criteria, in addition to a winning record: (A) NCAA qualifier; (B) Placed in the NCAA qualifying tournament; or (C) Won greater than 66% of his matches.
Larcomb is a senior 197-pounder and a physical education major; Gagnon is a junior heavyweight and an English major, and Wheeler is a sophomore majoring in physical and health education.
