Panthers downed by host WPI at Brockport
WORCESTER, Mass. – It was a tough afternoon for the Plymouth State University wrestling team Saturday at Worcester Polytechnic Institute as the Panthers fell to host WPI, 48-4, and to SUNY Brockport, 49-6.
The Panthers fall to 3-7 in dual matches this season, while WPI moves to 12-8 on the season while Brockport State is now 3-0. WPI finished fifth at the New England Dual Meet Tournament last weekend.
PSU dropped eight of nine bouts against WPI, with the lone Panther winner being freshman Bruce McLee (Washingtonville, N.Y.) by decision at 197 pounds. The Panthers also dropped six of seven bouts against Brockport, with freshman Scott Zimmerman (Bridgewater, Mass.) picking up the only victory for PSU at 149 pounds.
Plymouth State hosts its final home matches of the season next Saturday, entertaining Johnson & Wales University and Springfield College at Foley Gym at 11:00 a.m.
