PLYMOUTH, N.H. – With a number of team members battling a variety of injuries and illnesses, the Plymouth State University wrestling team fell to Western New England University, 56-0, in a dual meet at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House on Senior Day.

Prior to the start of the meet seniors Nick Simeti (Pearl River, N.Y.), Justin Montgomery (Natick, Mass.) and Moises Diaz (Manchester, N.H.) were all recognized for their contributions to Panther wrestling over their careers.

While Simeti and Montgomery were sidelined, Diaz had the top performance for PSU falling by a narrow 6-3 decision at 165 pounds.

Western New England earned wins in each of the ten weight classes and the shorthanded Panthers were forced to forfeit at 133-pounds, 184-pounds and 285-pounds.

Head coach Ryan Schieding expects close to a full squad for the upcoming NCAA Northeast Regionals in two weeks. The regional tournament will take place on Saturday (Feb. 24) and Sunday (Feb. 25) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
