Two PSC Soccer players named to LEC Weekly Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two Plymouth State College soccer players have been named to the Little East Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their strong contributions last week.
Senior forward Brett Scaccia (Stratham, NH) was selected to the LEC Men's Weekly Honor Roll, and sophomore back/midfielder Tara Dickson (Sussex, NJ) earned mention of the LEC Women's Weekly Honor Roll.
A 6'2", 190-pound striker, Scaccia had a pair of two-goal games as the Panthers went 1-0-1 during the week. He had both goals in a 2-2 overtime tie at Salem State Wednesday, and two more scores in an 8-1 conference win Saturday over Rhode Island College. Scaccia, who was the LEC Player of the Week last week, has three consecutive two-goal games to improve his season totals to eleven goals and two assists, and is leading the LEC in scoring with 24 points.
The PSC men are in first place in the LEC with a 3-0 record, 7-2-1 overall. The Panthers play five of their remaining seven regular season games at home, beginning Wednesday against St. Michael's (3:30 p.m.) and Saturday vs. UMass Dartmouth for the Homecoming contest (2:30 p.m.).
A 5'4" midfielder/defender, Dickson was selected to the weekly honor roll for the first time this season. She had a pair of goals in the Panthers' only game last week, an 8-0 conference win at Rhode Island College. Dickson, who was an honor roll selection once last season when she led the team in scoring, now ranks third on the team in scoring with seven points, scoring three goals and one assist.
The Panthers, who are ranked No. 3 in the latest NSCAA New England poll, boast a 8-2-0 overall record. PSC travels to New England's No. 1 ranked school, Bowdoin College, for a key match Wednesday (3:30 p.m.), then returns home to host UMass Dartmouth for Homecoming on Saturday (11:00 a.m.).
