NEW LONDON, N.H. - Junior Carrie Poulin (Westfield, Mass.) scored two goals and junior co-captain Susan Argereow (North Yarmouth, Maine) recorded a goal and an assist Monday to lead the Plymouth State College women's soccer team to a 4-0 road victory over intrastate rival Colby-Sawyer.
The Panthers, 3-1, jumped on the scoreboard in the game's third minute when freshman Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, NY) converted a pass form senior Erin Fitzgerald (Mansfield, Conn.). PSC extended the lead to 2-0 nine minutes later on a goal by Argereow, which was set up by a cross off the foot of freshman Kate Van Tassel (Natick, Mass.) Poulin then provided some insurance with a pair of second half goals, with Argereow picking up an assist.
PSC junior keeper Becky Kennedy (West Springfield, Mass.) stopped eight shots to earn her second shutout of the season, while Colby-Sawyer (1-2) goalie Megan Smith had 12 saves.
The Panthers resume their five-game road swing Wednesday (Sept. 13) at Brandeis (4 p.m.)
