PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The leading scorer on the Plymouth State College women's soccer team received the top weekly honor from the Little East Conference after her performance in two games last week.
Junior Sandra Petlick (New Castle, N.H.) was selected LEC Player of the Week. She was instrumental in PSC winning both of its contests last week, a 3-2 come-from-behind verdict over Green Mountain College last Monday and a 2-1 LEC victory over UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
A 5'8" forward/midfielder, Petlick scored three goals and assisted on another in the two contests. She scored twice in the final eight minutes to help the Panthers pull out the win over Green Mountain. Petlick then set up PSC's first goal and scored what proved to be the game-winner in the UMD victory. She leads the team and ranks second in the conference in scoring this season with five goals and two assists.
PSC, 3-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play, is idle until Saturday (Sept. 22) when the team hosts UMass Boston at Panther Field in another LEC contest (1:00 p.m.).
