PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two of the top soccer scoring leaders at Plymouth State College were recognized Monday with weekly honors by the Little East Conference after their performances in games last week.
Senior Antoine Moiboueyi (Gabon, Africa) was picked to the LEC Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll, and classmate Carrie Poulin (Westfield, Mass.) was named to the LEC Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll. It is the first such honor this season for either Panther, although both have been regular recipients of the award in previous years.
A 6'1", 180-pounder who plays both stopper and striker, Moiboueyi scored a pair of goals in PSC's 1-1 week. He notched a first-half goal in last Wednesday 3-2 loss to nationally-ranked Wheaton College, and added another in Saturday's 4-1 LEC win at UMass Boston. Moiboueyi has now scored a goal in three straight Panther contests, and is tied for eighth in the conference scoring department with six points.
A 5'3" forward/midfielder, Poulin scored a career-high four goals in PSC's only game last week, a 7-0 LEC rout of UMass Boston. She scored twice in the opening 30 minutes of the contest, and added two more later in the game. Poulin has scored 10 career goals against the Beacons. She is currently fourth in the conference in scoring with five goals and four assists.
The PSC men's squad, 2-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play, faces Bates on Wednesday (Sept. 26) in a non-conference affair in Lewiston, Maine (4:00 p.m.) before hosting Eastern Connecticut Saturday (Sept. 29) at Panther Field (3:00 p.m.).
The Panther women, 4-3-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the LEC, host Salem State on Tuesday (Sept. 25) at Panther Field (4:00 p.m.) before traveling to Eastern Connecticut Saturday (Sept. 29) for a key LEC match-up (1:00 p.m.).
