Two PSU Womens Soccer players earn All-Little East Conference honors
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two juniors on the Plymouth State University women's soccer team have been honored with selections to the 2005 All-Little East Conference Team. The announcement was made Monday by LEC Commissioner William M. Moore, and the teams were selected by the LEC's eight head coaches.
Junior back Allison Frobey (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and junior midfielder Kelsey MacDonald (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) were both named to the All-LEC Second Team. Frobey is a repeat selection, while MacDonald is recognized for the first time in soccer.
A 5'2" sweeper, Frobey (left) backboned the Panther
defense that posted two shutouts this season and allowed two or
fewer goals in 11 of 17 games. She has been a starter in all 50 of
her career games, and has contributed two assists to the offense
the past two seasons. Frobey has also served as co-captain the past
A 5'3" midfielder, MacDonald (right) started all 17 games
at center mid and contributed a goal and two assists to the
offense. A three-year starter, she is a veteran of 49 career games.
MacDonald was named All-LEC First Team and Offensive Player of the
Year in lacrosse last spring.
Frobey and MacDonald were the top players on a Panther team that finished with a 4-11-2 overall record and finished in sixth place in the LEC. PSU was edged by Keene State in the first round of the LEC Tournament, 1-0.
