PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University got goals from six different players Tuesday evening en route to a 6-0 non-conference women's soccer victory over Lyndon State College at chilly Panther Field.
The Panthers out-shot the Hornets 25-0 for the game, and put the contest away before halftime with four goals in the opening frame. PSU recorded its second straight shutout to improve to 6-7-2 overall, while LSC drops to 6-11-0.
Senior Kelsey McBride (Brookline, N.H.) put the Panthers on the board less than three minutes into the game, with an assist from freshman Lauren Lavery (Nashua, N.H.). Sophomore Brianna Coderre (Ira, Vt.), Lavery and junior Georgia Rooney (Kent, Conn.) added consecutive goals in an eight-minute span midway through the first half to make it a 4-0 game at the break.
The Panthers poured it on in the second half, with senior Ashley Lamell (Randolph, Vt.) and freshman Stacy DiSabato (Manchester, N.H.) adding to the Panther scoring total, and freshman Gianna Minervini (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and senior Allison Frobey collecting assists.
The Panthers wrap up the regular season with a Little East Conference game Saturday at UMass Dartmouth (1:00 p.m.), a clash that will determine the sixth and final LEC play-off berth. Lyndon State plays its final regular season game Saturday at Green Mountain College.
