PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University and Simmons College battled for 110 minutes on a chilly night at Panther Field, but neither team could score and the women's soccer game ended in a scoreless double-overtime draw.
Plymouth State remains unbeaten on the young season with two wins and a tie in three outings, while the Sharks are now 2-2-1.
PSU fired 30 shots at the Simmons goal but was unable to get one past junior goalkeeper Rachel Elliott (Amherst, N.H.). Elliott made several outstanding stops and finished with 17 saves.
Simmons managed to get 12 shots off, but also could not find the back of the net. Freshman goalkeepers Angelina LaBroad (Hampton, N.H.) and Stephanie Regina (Howell, N.J.) split time in the Panther net, with each making four saves.
The Panthers are back in action next Tuesday, Sept. 16, with a 4:30 p.m. home match against Colby-Sawyer College. Simmons will play in the Wellesley College Invitational this weekend, with its first match Saturday at 12 noon against Wellesley.
