PSU Women’s Soccer player named Little East All-Star

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the co-captains of the Plymouth State University women's soccer team was honored for her outstanding season Saturday when she was announced as a member of the 2008 Little East Conference All-Star Team.

Junior Lauren Lavery (Nashua, N.H./South) represented PSU on the 12-member All-LEC First Team.  The All-Star team is voted on by the league's eight head coaches, and was officially announced at the conclusion of Saturday's LEC Championship game.

Lavery (right) led the Panthers in scoring from her midfield position, finishing the season with seven goals and four assists.  She had two game-winning goals and registered a hat trick in a win over Rhode Island College.  Lavery is a very skillful player who will be one of the cornerstones of next year's team.

Plymouth State finished the season with a 5-9-3 overall record.  The Panthers were the sixth seed in the LEC Tournament and were defeated by Keene State in the first round.
