PSU Women’s Soccer player earns LEC weekly honor
LaBroad represents Panthers after strong game vs. UMB
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting goalkeeper on the Plymouth State University women's soccer team was recognized by the Little East Conference Monday for her performance in the final game of the regular season.
Senior Angelina LaBroad was named LEC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week as the Panthers wrapped up the regular season with a 0-0 tie against the University of Massachusetts Boston.
A veteran goalkeeper, LaBroad made a season-high 19 saves against the Beacons on Senior Day at Panther Field for her fourth shutout of the season. She made numerous diving saves to keep the Beacons off the scoreboard, including the LEC's scoring leader and two of the top five scorers in the conference. The 19 saves are the second-highest game total for LaBroad in her career, eclipsed only by a 20-save effort in a 2-2 double-overtime tie against Bridgewater State on Oct. 21, 2008.
The Panthers wrapped up the regular season at 5-10-1 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play, and will be the sixth seed in this week's LEC Tournament.
